Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA)- (3 - 4 days) - Course #151
Objectives are to provide participants with a technical and managerial understanding of Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA). QRA is a process for quantitatively estimating the risk of process systems. This offers benefits of more carefully determined and justified decision-making based on the likelihood and consequences of various hazards rather than qualitative methods. Concern over safety to the public and the environment has led governments to often require QRA and to justify that risks are As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP). This requires companies to be informed of these approaches, even if they decide to hire consultants for this work. The formality of the QRA process is appreciated by many companies as an improved method for risk decision-making, and is often voluntarily done. This is a more effective method of checking the design of new plants, and the design and operation of existing plants. The QRA Training is intended to train process industry personnel on the proper approach to conducting QRAs as well as provide guidance and tools to aid in leading HAZOP studies. This 3-day course will provide you with the technical and leadership skills necessary to successfully plan and execute a QRA and is most ideal for companies interested in developing some in-house QRA leadership skills.
