The American
Petroleum Institute (API) has been working with other
associations, member companies, and the U.S. Department of
Energy to help energy companies better evaluate and respond
appropriately to security threats. The result of these efforts
is a very timely and informative two-part event: API’s “Industry
Security Seminar & Security Vulnerability Assessment Workshop”
to be held on April 23-25 in Houston, TX.
The April
23 Security Vulnerability Assessment Workshop is an extremely
valuable tool for analyzing risks to petroleum facilities,
developing countermeasures, and assessing the costs and
benefits. The instructor is a well-known expert in the security
field – David Moore, President/CEO of AcuTech Consulting Group,
based in San Francisco, CA.
The April
24-25 Industry Security Seminar features various speakers who
have access to up-the-minute information on security risks
related to all segments of the petroleum industry. Presentations
will be given by expert representatives from various U.S.
government agencies, as well as petroleum companies.
